Fort Collins Museum of Discovery and Poudre River Public Library District announce new History Connection website

FORT COLLINS, CO – The new site offers improved functionality for local history research.

The Fort Collins Museum of Discovery and Poudre River Public Library District have long collaborated on the online history database, designed to showcase the resources available in the Local History Archive (located in FCMoD) as well as at the Library District. Significant improvements in database technology encouraged the two entities to address the outdated infrastructure and improve the visitor experience to the site.

Visitors to history.fcgov.com will now find improved searchability, resources grouped by commonly researched topics, and engaging local stories based on documents, photos, and artifacts in the museum collection. The site holds over 104,000 records, all accessible in the database.

“We are excited to give the public a more robust tool for searching the local stories that are important to them, and we are eternally grateful to the Library District for their ongoing support for this project,” states Lesley Struc, Local History Archive Curator.

The new site launched on July 1, and is accessed at http://history.fcgov.com.
