KRFC fans can purchase pet memberships during fall drive

KRFC 88.9 FM radio is looking to listeners’ pets to make its pledge phones ring.

Whether you have a cat, dog, lizard or horse, the public community radio station is urging owners to declare love for their pets during its 2014 Fall Membership Drive, running Sept. 26 to Oct. 4.

On Sept. 27, KRFC fans can purchase pet-listener memberships for just $20 per pet, or $35 for two or more.

Pet owners will receive a numbered collar tag with KRFC contact information. The radio station will maintain a database of pet members and, if one should turn up missing, the owner can call KRFC at 970.221.5075 and the station will air an an-nouncement letting the comunity know your Rex, Puff or Shroedinger is missing.

Alternately, if someone calls the station with a found pet, KRFC will match it up to the owner.

It’s a great extra step to protecting your pet without paying for a print advertise-ment or pasting up fliers that may go unnoticed.

Naturally, humans also are urged to sign up for listener memberships during the drive.

“KRFC wouldn’t exist without our listener members,” said Station Manager Brian Hughes. “We depend upon our faithful fans, but also appreciate all the new listen-ers who have lately found and enjoyed our non-profit station.”

Hughes also extended thanks to challenge grant sponsors, including:

* Canino’s Italian Restaurant
* Odell Brewing Company
* EsScentuals
* Prima Body Wear
* James Orr Real Estate Services
* Crescendo
* Cranknstein
