The League of Women Voters Candidates Forum for candidates for Wellington Mayor and Board of Trustees will take place on Monday, March 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Leeper Center, 3800 Wilson Ave. in Wellington. March 24 was chosen for the Candidates Forum because it is the date that the majority of the candidates are able to participate.
The Mayoral portion of the forum will run from approximately 7 to 7:30 p.m. and the Board of Trustees segment will begin at approximately 7:35 p.m. and conclude at 9 p.m.
Each candidate will be given up to one and one half minutes to answer the following question: “Why are you running for this office, and what skills/experience do you bring to the position?”
After opening statements, candidates will have up to one minute to answer questions that have been submitted by members of the audience, and screened to avoid duplication. The questions will be posed by the moderator.
At the conclusion of the question-answer period, each candidate will be asked to make a closing statement of up to one minute. All candidate statements and answers will be timed for fairness.
