Letter: Vote Udall for Senate

Editor:

Are you aware that the 2013 shutdown of the federal government by Cory Gardner and other Congressional Republicans reduced real GDP by at least $16 billion, resulted in the closing of Rocky Mountain National Park with a loss of almost $11 million in revenues, and caused public approval of Congress to plummet to its lowest level ever?

Gardner and his Republican allies portray themselves as attempting to protect the taxpayer from wasteful government spending and apparently hoped that the public would be taken in by their words without becoming aware of the financial consequences of their actions.

If you want someone in the U. S. Senate who has tried to mislead the public by presenting himself as an advocate of fiscal responsibility while engaged in actions that wasted millions of your tax dollars then vote for Cory Gardner. If you are fed up with slippery politicians who say one thing while doing the opposite then vote for someone with integrity: U. S. Senator Mark Udall.
