New local service untangles government bidding process for businesses

On March 3, the Board of Larimer County Commissioners learned more about Colorado’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center which provides government contract assistance. A ribbon cutting ceremony to officially mark the enhanced services available to local businesses followed the March 3 presentation at the Workforce Center office in Fort Collins.

The Colorado PTAC’s new Larimer County presence includes its new procurement counselor, Kathryn Rowe, who is former Larimer County Purchasing Director. Rowe will assist Larimer County businesses in obtaining government contracts.

“Doing business with the government can be a tremendous opportunity, however, bidding on government contracts can be a difficult process.” said Rowe. “PTAC services can provide that critical component for businesses to successfully compete for contracts.”

The Larimer County Workforce Center is providing in-kind services to PTAC through the use of office space and other support. Rowe will have office hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Workforce Center in Fort Collins, 200 West Oak St. Rowe says an agreement has been made with the City of Loveland to use offices there as needed when prospective Loveland businesses desire her assistance. Rowe can be contacted at 719-644-8210.
