No one filed their intent to run as a write-in candidate for the Wellington Town Board by the deadline at 5 p.m. Wednesday, so the April election has been cancelled.
The three declared candidates — Jack Brinkhoff, Reggie Kemp and Larry Noel — have been declared elected and will be sworn in at the board’s first meeting in April, according to Deputy Town Clerk Cynthia Sullivan.
The board had passed a resolution canceling the April 3 election at its Tuesday, March 13, meeting, but by law the town could accept write-in applications through Wednesday.
