Thaine J. Michie was elected to represent Poudre Valley REA on the Tri-State Generation and Transmission Board of Directors, the Cooperative’s wholesale power supplier. Jack R. Schneider was elected to represent Poudre Valley REA on the Colorado Rural Electric Association Board of Directors and Steven D. Anderson was chosen as the alternate delegate. James F. Fender was elected to represent Poudre Valley REA on the Western United Electric Supply Corporation (WUE) Board of Directors and Georglyn Diehl was chosen as the alternate delegate.

“As a rural electric cooperative, PVREA exists to serve its members and is governed by its members through the election of Board Directors. The election of officers allows us to continue to serve the membership in the best way we see fit,” President Schneider said.

As a member-owned electric cooperative, the board of directors is elected by the membership and the REA is governed by democratic principles. The membership recently reelected three incumbent board members at the annual meeting held on March 29. Each year, new officer positions are elected by ballot at the next board meeting following the annual meeting in accordance with the Association’s Bylaws. Officers hold their positions until the next election.
