Red Feather Lakes Community Library seeking grant for landscape project

Red Feather Lakes Community Library is partnering with Larimer County to apply for a Great Outdoor Colorado $45,000 mini grant to transform the library’s gravel parking lot into a multi-use area. If awarded, the grant will fund a new natural playscape, Xeriscaped educational gardens and comfortable seating with shade for reading a good book or to use the Internet. The library wants to create a beautiful space where the community and visitors can connect, relax and have a safe play area for kids that is engaging and educational. The Girl Scouts will design and care for one of the gardens.

Residents have commented on how it is harder to be “up the mountain” with fewer resources and places for parents and kids to meet and play. The RFLCL wants to give back more to their community and offer an outdoor space to meet and enjoy our mountains.
