October is here, and Halloween is just around the corner. Celebrate with the children at your door on the 31st. Here are some of the not-so-spooky events at the Wellington Senior Center this month.
Oct. 1: Membership meeting, 10:30 a.m. October birthdays will be celebrated.
Oct. 17: Free blood pressure check, 11 a.m. to noon. Flu shots will also be available.
Oct. 18: Lunch at the Good Samaritan in Windsor; bus leaves the center at 10:30 a.m.
Oct. 22: Seminar on women’s health, 11 a.m.-noon.
Oct. 24: Stories about Wellington, 12:30-1 p.m.
Oct. 30: Knit and crochet at the Senior Housing clubhouse, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your lunch.
Oct. 31: Potluck lunch at noon; Halloween party and bingo after lunch.
And the band plays every Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Remember to bring your aluminum cans to the center for recycling. Call Trudy at 970-817-2293 for details.
The center is located in the Leeper Center, 3800 Wilson Ave., and is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with meals served each day at noon. For reservations, call the day before between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at 970-817-2293.
