Customers bringing their own bags to the Whole Foods Market on South College Avenue in Fort Collins get a 10-cent per bag refund at checkout. But in August and September, customers can choose to designate Rice Elementary in Wellington as the recipient of the refund.
The store’s Bag Refund Donation Program has previously awarded $5,000 to $7,000 each quarter of the calendar year to a local school, but the bag program changed recently so the money is split between two nonprofits and one school.
To avoid confusion as to which organization gets your bag refund, just designate Rice as the recipient the next time you shop Whole Foods.
