Letter: A great 4th of July celebration in Wellington

Editor:

On behalf of the Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce, we want to extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone who participated in and came out to view Wellington’s 4th of July parade. We want to especially recognize the town’s Community Activities Commission and their extraordinary effort in planning and organizing the entire day. It was a great celebration of the Past, Present and Future of our town.

The Chamber was particularly proud of the opportunity to introduce the new town slogan, “Colorado’s Northern Gateway.” Congratulations to all the winners of awards for creative float building.

We also want to express our gratitude to everyone who made the car show and fair such a fun place to browse. And finally, thanks to the Town of Wellington and the Wellington Fire Protection District for putting on another spectacular fireworks show to wind up the evening. Events like this make Wellington a great place to live and work.

We want to extend an invitation to everyone to return to Wellington for the Fall Festival on Sept. 7. There will be craft booths, fire department demonstrations, music and the return of the popular Town Treasure Hunt. Start watching for clues to appear on Aug. 25 on the town website, Facebook and Twitter feeds. The prize for retrieving the treasure token is $100. Best of luck in finding it.

Chairman, Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce
