Workers in tree-clearing crew pistol-whipped near Cherokee Park Road

On Aug. 7 the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a 34-year-old Denver woman with facial injuries. The woman was part of a work crew clearing trees on private property near mile marker 19 on the Cherokee Park Road. She reported she was struck in the face with a pistol and shot at by a co-worker following an argument.

During the investigation deputies contacted a 27-year-old Denver man, who was also working to clear trees, who reported a similar incident. Following an argument, he too was struck in the side of the head with a pistol and shot at by the same individual.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant and a search warrant for the property following the interviews with the victims. In cooperation with the Boulder County SWAT team, the Larimer County SWAT team executed both warrants on Aug. 9.

Justin K. Pohlman is in custody at the Larimer County Jail and has been charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, a Class 4 felony; two counts of felony menacing, a Class 6 felony; and three counts of reckless endangerment, a Class 3 misdemeanor.
