A brush fire near Horsetooth Reservoir prompted a second-alarm response Sunday morning before firefighters quickly brought the flames under control.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m. Aug. 23, dispatchers received multiple calls reporting a brush fire along North County Road 23 near Satanka Cove at Horsetooth Reservoir, according to Poudre Fire Authority. Because of current conditions and the number of callers, dispatch upgraded the response to a second alarm.
When firefighters arrived, crews found a small brush fire burning alongside the road. Firefighters attacked the flames and quickly knocked it down.
With the fire under control, crews released the additional second-alarm resources. Two crews remained at the scene to conduct mop-up operations.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
