Gaia’s Farm and Gardens becomes a reality

Kathleen Miller, founding owner of Gaia’s Farm and Gardens in LaPorte, is fulfilling a long-held dream and serving her community in several ways as she embarks on the first season for her business.

Already underway is a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program that offers three levels of participation. A roadside stand will offer fresh produce from her garden as well as fruit and products from local and western slope growers. Open June 8-Nov. 2, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week.

Miller describes her business as “a permaculture Shangri-la” and anticipates opening a holistic healing center in the near future. She combines horticulture and holistic healing and promotes wellness derived from association with nature and appropriate nutrition. A certified Reiki practitioner, Miller’s center will offer healing touch, yoga, massage, Reiki, workshops and classes. A therapeutic petting zoo is also planned. See website at www.gaiascsa.com for offerings and schedules.
