Linda Hoffmann to become new Larimer County manager

The Larimer County Board of County Commissioners Wednesday chose Linda Hoffmann to become the county’s new manager.

The county attorney’s office will begin contract negotiations with Hoffmann, who is currently director of the county’s Planning and Building Services Division. The commissioners expect to confirm her salary and start date on Tuesday, May 22. The salary has been capped at $160,436 per year, the amount earned by County Manager Frank Lancaster before he accepted the position of Town Administrator for Estes Park.

Hoffmann and Human Resources Director Lorenda Volker were chosen from a pool of eight current county employees as finalists for the manager’s position. They went through an interview process with the senior management team, elected officials, county employees and residents before appearing before the commissioners’ special meeting on Wednesday.

All three Board members praised both finalists and acknowledged the decision was difficult given two outstanding candidates.

Hoffmann has been with Larimer County since 2008. She was previously with Nolte and Associates, an engineering consulting firm.
