Bella's, Ridley’s Family Market release joint statements about purchase

Ridley’s Family Market entered into an agreement to purchase the Bella’s Market in Wellington. The parties are working to close and transfer operations as soon as practical.

“Both parties are working to close the transaction as soon as possible. There are a few things to work through but everyone is working together to get it done,” said Sam Mancini, president of Bella’s.

Ridley’s Family Market Director of Operations Mark Ridley said that he was excited to start doing business in Wellington.

“The team of people that are working in the store have been very dedicated and working hard to make them successful and we know that they will be as part of the Ridley’s family of stores,” said Ridley. “As a family owned company, Ridley’s Family Market prides itself on being active members of their local communities and is also is very focused on having the best prices available in the area to give customers a great option to shop local. We are confident that the customers will be very pleased with what they see over the upcoming weeks and months as these stores are converted to the Ridley’s banner. We are grateful to Sam Mancini and his entire team at the Bella’s stores as they have worked with us to make this transition successful.”

Jack Brinkoff, Mayor of Wellington, reflected the community’s sigh of relief that Ridley’s will restock the store.

“(Remember that) the store would not be here if Bella’s Market had not purchased it and kept it open for our community,” said Brinkoff. “I think people have forgotten that fact. Bella’s ran into a difficult business challenge and have done what they could given the situation. We are appreciative of what they have done for the town and our community. They were always generous in their donations.”

The market will stay open and new inventory begins to come into the store. Warren Federal Credit Union located at the store will stay open as well. Among other stores, Ridley’s has a store in Laramie, Wyoming.

  1. Made a Veterans Day “recon mission” to the Wellington Ridley’s Family Market (formerly the empty shelf Bella’s). Almost all sections are fully restocked and the cashier said the last section or two will be back to normal by week’s end. So nice to not live in a “food desert” anymore . . . and to spend my dollars locally!
