Boutique Event Center gets thumbs up from LAPAC

The LaPorte Area Planning Advisory Committee met April 16 to conduct a special review of the proposed Boutique Event Center to be located on 20 acres of land at 4623 and 4525 Rist Canyon Road, 300 feet west of County Road 23E.

Michael Whitley of the Larimer County Planning Department made a detailed presentation and applicants Allan and Emily Leibow were available to answer questions. They are requesting approval for a community hall/event center and a resort lodge with rental cabins. The property is currently zoned O-open zoning district.

Noise, parking, paving and lighting issues were addressed. To date, no one in the neighborhood has expressed objections to the proposed project.

The couple plans to take advantage of existing buildings in order to minimize construction as they create a facility appropriate for gatherings and overnight stays. Total number of guests for events such as weddings, reunions and office meetings, would be restricted to 99. Three cabins would be available for rental. The center would be open for business between May 1 and Dec. 31.

The committee voted to recommend approval of the Boutique Event Center by the Larimer County Board of Commissioners, who will have the final say regarding the project.
