Free firewood reservations now open

Reservations for this year’s Larimer County free firewood program can be made online beginning Sept. 28.

Firewood will be available for pickup on weekends Oct. 8-9 and 15-16, weather permitting, beginning promptly at 9 a.m. Attendance is limited to 12 vehicles each day, and no late entry will be permitted. Participants will meet at the Soderberg Trailhead, 3901 Shoreline Drive, at Horsetooth Mountain Open Space, west of Fort Collins.

Individuals wishing to participate must be able to cut downed logs to the lengths they want, load the wood on their trucks, and assist in loading all trucks in the group.

For more information and to reserve a time slot, go to the county’s Department of Natural Resources website at www.larimer.org/naturalresources/firewood.
