Have some homemade yogurt with that homemade sauerkraut

The Larimer County Extension Office will conduct two workshops in October that provide an opportunity to learn the art and science of fermenting foods.

Making yogurt at home: Yogurt making is an ancient craft and a modern science. Tangy, nutritious yogurt can be made at home with regular kitchen utensils, and often is less expensive than buying it. Learn safe and easy methods for making yogurt and yogurt cheese in this workshop – taste testing included.
Wednesday, October 12, 6 — 8 p.m.
Workshop fee: $25
Location: Larimer County Extension Office, 1525 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins

Sauerkraut & fermented vegetables: Natural fermentation is one of the oldest means of food preservation. Learn the science of preparing and storing sauerkraut and other fermented vegetables safely in this hands-on workshop.
Saturday, October 22, 9 — 11 a.m.
Workshop fee: $25
Location: Larimer County Fairgrounds, McKee Building. Loveland

Pre-registration is required for workshops and space is limited. Register online at www.larimer.org/ext. For more information contact Larimer County Extension at 970-498-6000.
