Kites in the Park

Kites in the Park pic 1 butterflyLet’s go fly a kite up to the highest height! The 8th annual Kites in the Park Festival hosted by The City of Fort Collins Recreation Department will soar up through the atmosphere on Sun, May 17 from 10am-4pm at Spring Canyon Community Park, 2626 W. Horsetooth Rd. The festival is free and will host kite attractions from around the world, along with kite flying demonstrations, competitions, concessions, merchandise, a free kite making station and tons of giveaways throughout the day. This year, the City of Fort Collins has partnered with HobbyTown and the Confucius Institute at CSU to host internationally renowned kite fliers Yong Yang and Zhanjun Ding, from the Pengcheng Kite Folk Art Center of Weifang, Shandong Province, China. Yang and Ding will fly beautifully decorated, giant dragon and animal kites and will be available for demonstrations and lessons.
