Buffalo Creek Community Park in Wellington is about to undergo way more than a name change. Plans are underway to complete the parks and trails master plan which will transform the park into a place where there is something for everyone. Modeled after Spring Canyon Community Park in Fort Collins, there will be an interactive playground to challenge children of all abilities, a splash pad, tennis courts, baseball fields, a dog park, picnic shelters and indoor restroom facilities.
Such an exciting endeavor deserves an appealing name.
Take a trip to the park, put on your thinking cap and come up with the perfect name for Wellington’s new park. Submit your flash of brilliance with a short description of why you chose it to [email protected] and put “Name the Park” in the subject line. Or you can mail your entry to P.O. Box 1182, Wellington, CO 80549. All submissions are due by Nov. 20.
The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate that can be used at any Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce business. Two runners-up will receive $50 gift certificates.
