Post-fire watershed restoration and recovery to be discussed

Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed, a nonprofit group established following the High Park Fire of 2012, invites the community to attend a presentation they have organized along with Colorado State University and the USFS Rocky Mountain Research Station, to be held at the Lower Poudre Canyon Community Building, 6:30-8:30 p.m., October 15. Presentations will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a reception and discussion to follow.

Anyone interested in on-going post-fire research and restoration projects can learn about the effects of the High Park Fire on flooding, erosion and water quality from Colorado State University researchers. CPRW is also interested in learning of any post-fire recovery needs that remain. The organization is launching an effort to create a watershed plan focused on reducing future wildfire impacts and seeks public input.
