Poudre School District offers suicide prevention training for parents

PSD parents interested in learning how to help people at risk for suicide may want to attend a QPR suicide prevention training, a 1 hour and 30 minute training that teaches participants the three-step QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer) method.

This training covers warning signs, how to recognize people at risk for suicide, intervention skills, how to talk to and assist people at risk for suicide, referral resources, myths and facts related to suicide and more.

There is no charge, but registration is required. Please call 970-490-3264 for registration details.

QPR trainings will be held:
• Wednesday, Nov. 6: 6:30– 8 p.m., Fort Collins High School Media Center – must register by Nov. 4
• Tuesday, Nov. 19: 6:30 – 8 p.m., Blevins Middle School Media Center – must register by Nov. 15
• Wednesday, Dec. 4: 6:30 – 8 p.m., Boltz Middle School Media Center – must register by Dec. 2
