Sheriff: Shattered windows not caused by projectile from firearm

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and other area law enforcement agencies have responded to multiple reports of shattered vehicle windows on or near Interstate 25 in the last week. To date, no evidence has been found to indicate any of the windows were damaged by a firearm projectile.

LCSO investigators are sharing information with other law enforcement agencies and using crime analysis procedures to track the incidents in efforts to establish potential patterns that my assist with the investigations. The LCSO patrol division has been directed to increase patrols in areas where these incidents have been reported.

The shooting incident on April 22 in which the victim sustained a gunshot wound is the only known case of a vehicle fired upon using a weapon.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents or any crime is asked to call Larimer County Sheriff’s Office at 970-416-1985 or Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868 where you will remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward.
