Sen. Mark Udall will attend the Crystal Fire: Let’s Get Growing event on May 12 to promote wildfire safety and support the efforts in rebuilding our forests from the devastation caused by wildfire and insect infestation.
The address for the Let’s Get Growing event is 1758 Wildsong Road, west of Fort Collins.
The Crystal Fire, which destroyed 13 homes and burned 3,000 acres west of Fort Collins, was one of the more destructive fires Colorado experienced last year. This year, more than 98 percent of Colorado is experiencing drought conditions and elevated threat of wildfire.
During the event, children will be planting seedlings and learning about emergency preparedness. Udall also will participate in some of the activities at the event.
