Wellington Chamber creates local "bucks"

Recognizing the importance of keeping money local, Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce chairman Walter Lamia said the chamber is in the process of launching a Chamber Bucks program to benefit Wellington-area businesses.

Here’s how it works: Individuals and businesses buy “bucks” to be used the way you would any gift certificate. The Chamber Bucks spend just like money, but can only be redeemed at chamber-member businesses participating in the program. Any current chamber member who sells goods or services is eligible to accept Chamber Bucks, but must sign up with the chamber to participate.

All purchasers of Chamber Bucks will be given a flier listing participating businesses. These business will also be listed on the chamber’s website at wellingtoncoloradochamber.net.

When Chamber Bucks become available in December, they can be purchased at the Wellington branches of the following banks: First National Bank, 4100 Harrison Ave., Points West Community Bank, 8100 Sixth Street and Warren Federal Credit Union, 7670 5th St.
