FORT COLLINS, CO – January 30, 2018 – For more than three decades, city and county employees have taken part in a competition to see who can raise the most money and donations for the Food Bank for Larimer County. This year was no different, as the two teams went head-to-head during the holidays in the City & County Food & Fund Drive.

This year marked the 31st City & County Food & Fund Drive. As it has in recent years, the county edged the city in total donations, but the real winner was the community. The city and county employees combined to raise $18,455 and donate more than 2,800 pounds of food.

The competition used events like bake sales, holiday parties and burrito drives to raise money for the Food Bank. Collectively, the money raised will help the Food Bank provide more than $90,000 worth of food for neighbors needing assistance. Since the City & County Food & Fund Drive began, the two groups have raised nearly $475,000 and donated more than 170,000 pounds of food for the community.

“The City & County Food & Fund Drive is one of our oldest and most successful community events,” said Food Bank for Larimer County CEO Amy Pezzani. “Year in and year out, the generosity of the city and county employees is evident by the time and effort they put into this great event.”
