Fort Collins workshops will examine issues of character and change in the city’s oldest neighborhoods near downtown

The City of Fort Collins will host two workshops to discuss issues of character and change in the city’s oldest neighborhoods near Downtown. These workshops are a crucial part of the public’s involvement of the “Eastside and Westside Neighborhoods Character Study.” The study hopes to uncover tools and policy to retain and enhance the unique character and context of the neighborhoods. City Council will consider results from the workshops at their upcoming July 24 work session.

The two interactive workshops will ask important questions and share information with participants. What qualities make up the character of different parts of the Eastside and Westside Neighborhoods? What objectives should guide ongoing change as demolitions, new houses and additions continue to occur? While one workshop will focus on the Eastside and the other on the Westside, anyone is welcome to attend either one depending on which date works best — the topics are similar in both. Can’t attend the workshops? Please share your thoughts by completing an online questionnaire at fcgov.com/eastwestneighborhoods.
