A Denver Post story this morning reports that the bankrupt Grant Family Farms near Wellington was forced to slaughter and bury 11,000 organic chickens that were part of the farm’s colorful Chicken Bus program. The CSA farm, facing $6.9 million in debt, made the decision to kill the chickens because of a lack of feed. Kids from all over the state helped paint the busses.
