Larimer County donates computers to Wellington

The Board of Larimer County Commissioners approved on April 15 the donation of four computers to the Town of Wellington, 10 computers to the Wellington library and one to the Northern Colorado Regional Computer Forensics Lab.

The April 15 meeting was attended by Wellington M\mayor Jack Brinkhoff, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office information director Lt. Steven Bebell, who facilitated the donation, and Wellington Library Director Kathy Bornhoft.

Larimer County uses desktop computers for four years and laptops for three years and then sells them to the community and employees. Even with this schedule there are surplus computers at times and these are sometimes donated.

“But when we do we’d rather donate them than pay to have them recycled,” county manager Linda Hoffman said.

Bornhoft added that because of this donation “the Wellington library is able to provide the patrons of the library with more computer access and computers classes.”
