Larimer County mails delinquent property tax statements

Nearly 9,000 delinquent property tax statements for the property tax year 2012, payable in 2013 will hit mail boxes this week. If you have not paid your property taxes by this time, they are delinquent. Many mortgage companies have made tax payments on behalf of the property owner and have submitted payment to us.

Each year property owner’s have two options when paying their property taxes. If paying in full, the deadline is April 30. If paying in two equal installments, the first half is due February 28 and the second half is due June 15.

Delinquent interest increases at a rate of one percent each month in accordance with Colorado State Statues.

Property taxes and delinquent interest collected by the county treasurer are distributed to the county taxing authorities including cities and towns, fire districts and health districts.
