Lincoln Middle a "perfect match" for leader Don Rangel

Don Rangel has been an educator for 29 years, but he’s still excited about his new job as principal at Lincoln Middle School.

Rangel worked as a teacher and principal in Greeley for 10 years early in his career, then spent 15 years in Lincoln, Neb. as a principal. Before joining the team at Lincoln, he was principal at Zach Elementary School in Fort Collins.

“I want to build on all the good work here,” he said. The school motto is “Lincoln is the place to be,” and Rangel said he believes that wholeheartedly.

His goal for this year is to ensure that Lincoln is exactly what a school should look like, sound like and feel like for staff, students and parents. He wants to keep the same educational practices that have made Lincoln successful and make sure that students have a fun, safe place to learn.

Rangel’s favorite part about being an educator is interacting with the kids. “I like being in the position to prepare kids to have choices in their lives,” he said.
