Publisher Letter: March 2019

Winter got you down? Take heart! Here comes March!

Just when we think winter might never end, along comes March with holidays we recognize such as Mardi Gras on March 5, and St. Patty’s Day on March 17, and some designated days that may be new to us such as World Wildlife Day on March 3, and International Women’s Day on March 8.

But hands-down, at this time of year, the one day that quickly and effectively transforms quality of life is Sunday March 10 when Daylight Savings begins — yes, we might lose an hour of sleep but that’s a small price to pay to enjoy ever-increasing daylight in the months to come. And as if this wasn’t enough there’s also the Spring Equinox on March 20 that heralds the promise of flowers, greening foliage, eventually, warmer weather — and in time for your Spring and Summer plantings, our upcoming high quality magazine Gardener!

We’ve heard from many of our readers just how much you appreciate what we’re doing to provide you with high-quality, local, solution-driven journalism covering stories in your community rarely found elsewhere.
