Ranch-Way Feeds owners and general managers Kim and Bonnie Szidon will be grand marshals of the 2011 Larimer County Fair Parade. Ranch-Way Feeds is the oldest continuously operating business in Fort Collins, and its building is a local landmark.
The building, originally a flour mill, was constructed on the banks of the Poudre River in 1868. Today the company manufactures feed for animals ranging from alpacas to zebras. The Szidons are long-time sponsors of the Larimer County Fair and are also substantial supporters of Larimer County 4-H, which includes more than 1,100 members.
The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. on July 30. The march through downtown Loveland will feature various entries from all over northern Colorado.
The 2011 Larimer County Fair runs Aug. 5-9 at The Ranch in Loveland. Events at this year’s fair include the return of the Gnarly Barley Brew Festival on Aug. 6; Splash Dogs, Aug. 5-9; PRCA Rodeo, Aug. 7-9; and many 4-H events.
