Red Feather Lakes Library update

By Creed Kidd
Library Director

Closing the library’s summer reading program Aug. 6, we have a real treat lined up: storyteller Indiana Bones, “Keeper of Legends” (aka Mike McCartney, an Emmy Award winning writer, producer and performing artist) who leads the audience on a journey through time with the use of artifacts, fossils, lively puppets and the crack of his bull whip.

Indiana Bones is in considerable demand and we’re fortunate to have a performer of his caliber come to the library. Reservations are recommended at 970-881-2664. The performance is scheduled for 2 p.m. Aug. 6 at the POA building across from the Red Feather Lakes Library. Wear your Indiana Jones get-up if you dare.

Summer Reading Program logs are due at the library by Aug. 2. In conjunction with Indiana Jones, er, Bones, the library will conduct a grand prize drawing for each reading-program category: pre-school through kindergarten, first- through fifth-graders, teens and adults. You don’t have to be there to win.

Eighteenth-century theologian and New Englander Jonathan Edwards (a.k.a. Jack R. Van Ens) comes to Red Feather Lakes Community Library at 3 p.m. Aug. 12 to speak about “The American Revolution Before 1776 That’s Forgiven.” Those remembering Van Ens’ excellent portrayal last year of Thomas Jefferson will want to be there. Everyone is invited.
