Obituary: Kent W. Johnson

Kent Warren Johnson, 60, of Red Feather Lakes passed away on Monday, July, 18, 2016 with his daughter, Tamara by his side. Kent was born February 9, 1956 in Greeley to Neil and Gladys Johnson. He attended Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, graduating in 1975.

Following his father’s footsteps, Kent gained extensive experience on a number of Colorado golf courses, including Collindale and Fort Collins Country Club. In 1981 Kent took a position at Fox Acres Country Club in Red Feather Lakes as an assistant superintendent, retiring due to disability in 2014. Despite his poor health, he wanted to remain in his beloved Red Feather community.

He will be remembered in the hearts of those who knew him as a gentle bear of a man that could quickly get riled up at the injustices of life. But, he was also a man who love to make people smile. He was quick with a good joke and even quicker with a bad one. A true “Red Feather Character.”

A loving father, brother, grandfather, crazy uncle and loyal friend; he will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Tamara Johnson and grandson, Mason Frye; siblings, Karen (Gene) Rempel, Rick Johnson, Lynn (Jo-Lyn) Johnson and Gail Robinson; numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 13 at Basil at the One Eighty One, 181 Ramona Lake Dr. in Red Feather Lakes.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to be made to the Kent Johnson Memorial Fund c/o Goes Funeral Care, 3665 Canal Drive #E, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
