Obituary: Thomas H. Evans

Tom Evans, 89, of the Waverly community passed away Nov. 21, 2014.

A memorial service was held at the Allnutt Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins on Friday, Nov. 28. Cremation was performed with an interment with full military honors scheduled for a later date at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Mr. Evans, an army combat veteran of WW II, served as a field artillery forward observer in the European theater of the operation through northern France, Belgium, Holland, the Battle of the Bulge, Alsace, and Germany. After Army discharge, he attended Colorado A&M College and earned a B.S. in Agriculture.

He worked for the Department of Defense as a training manager in the U.S. Air Force Technical Training School for 35 years. He was active in the United Methodist Church and was a Scout Master for 12 years. After retirement he worked as a building contractor and farmed.

Survivors include his wife, Jody (JoAnn) Evans, two sons; Michael and wife Joyce Evans of Fort Laramie, WY; Patrick and wife Patsy Evans of Colby, Kansas; and daughter Kayleen Evans, MD, of Cheyenne, Wyo., along with four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
