ACE Hardware collects more than $1,500

Customers of Andersen’s ACE Hardware in Wellington donated $1,578 to the store’s holiday Giving Tree campaign, more than one and a half times the original goal.

“It was a screaming success,” said Ian Andersen. “We want to thank all our customers for their generosity.”

The donations collected went directly to Wellington Middle School to purchase gifts and winter clothing for disadvantaged students.

He added that ACE will be holding its third annual Ladies Night in February this year. The exact date has yet to be determined, but women interested in expanding their home improvement skills in a fun atmosphere should sign up at the store at 4104 Jefferson Ave.

“We have experts in various fields give classes on how to perform basic maintenance, like rewiring a fixture or replacing a faucet,” Andersen explained. “It’s an evening of wine, cheese and hardware.”
