Arrgh. Pirate-themed park in Wellington open for play

The pirate-themed playground at Winick Park is open for play.

The Board of Trustees and Parks Advisory Board would like to invite children of all ages to a grand opening party on May 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be pirate- and fairy-themed activities along with face painting to celebrate the opening of the park. Make sure you look at the spinner on the side of the ship and embark on a treasure hunt to find all the items you need.

The Winick Park is a 1.5-acre park located on the northeast corner of Coralbell Court and Wine Cup Street in Wellington.

The Town of Wellington asks that residents continue to be patient as work on Wellington Community Park progresses. The above-ground work is beginning and the park is starting to take form. But it is still a site with heavy construction and is not considered safe for residents, children and any others not authorized to be on site.

If you witness inappropriate activity or trespassing on the construction site, please contact the Larimer County Sheriff’s Department. Appropriate action will be taken to address such situations. It is important that the park site remain secure so the town is not liable for safety issues, payment for vandalism or removal of important survey markers.
