August gallery preview offers sneak peak of art to be auctioned Sept. 2 to benefit the Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department

A special showing of some of the 120 works of art featured in this year’s Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction will be held at the Center for Fine Art Photography in north Fort Collins from August 3 to 28 and will be included in the First Friday Art Gallery Walk. Proceeds from the auction support the Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department and firefighters who battled Colorado’s devastating High Park Fire.

Founding artist Richard Schmid has announced that he will generously donate 100% of the proceeds of the sale of his painting at the auction to the fire department, and other artists have followed suit.

PREVIEW: Aug. 3 – 28 at the Center for Fine Art Photography; hours Tuesday – Friday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.; 400 North College in Fort Collins. First Friday Gallery Walk on Aug. 3 from 5 – 9 p.m.

AUCTION: Sept. 2 in Rist Canyon; preview and silent auction opens at 10 a.m.; live auction starts at 1 p.m.
