Bella's Market stores closed because of bankruptcy filing have reopened

Bella’s Market stores in Akron, Haxtun, Wiggins, St. Francis, Kan., have reopened after the company that operates them, VM Odell’s LLC, entered into Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sept. 24.

Sam Mancini, president and CEO, said in a Sept. 26 statement that the company “reluctantly entered into Chapter 11 with certain stores to protect ourselves from an overly aggressive creditor action. Entering into the bankruptcy proceedings, we were current on all of our debt and vendor payments and we have no intention to do anything other than pay our debts in full.”

Mancini said there will be no employee layoffs and no anticipated changes to vendors.

VM Odell’s is a subsidiary of Village Market Holdings Ltd, a corporation registered in Delaware.
