Bennet accepting applications for fall internships in Washington, Colorado offices

Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet is accepting internship applications from undergraduate students, recent graduates, and graduate students for his offices in Washington, Colorado Springs, Denver, Durango, Fort Collins, Grand Junction and Pueblo.

Washington interns attend hearings and briefings, research legislative issues, meet with Congressional officials and staff, conduct U.S. Capitol tours and draft correspondence.

Colorado interns assist Constituent Advocates as they meet with and assist Coloradans who need help navigating the federal government, represent Senator Bennet at local meetings and events, research legislative issues and draft correspondence.

“There is nothing more than rewarding than watching students and young people take an active role in their government,” Bennet said. “Interns play an important role helping our office. They will acquire hands-on experience learning about legislation, federal policy, and how the federal government operates. They play a pivotal role in serving Coloradans, and it’s a great way to jump start one’s career, especially for those interested in public service. I encourage anyone interested in serving Colorado and learning more about our government to apply.”

Internships are available on either a full-time or part-time basis. This is an unpaid position. Interested students and recent graduates should apply online at http://www.bennet.senate.gov/services/internships/. The deadline to apply for an internship in Washington for the spring semester is November 15. For internships in one of Bennet’s Colorado offices, applicants will be considered on a rolling basis and can apply any time.
