Who the #^&% is Bill Smith? Is he alive? With their proclaimed EP releasing this month, we are sure to find out that Bill Smith lives. Every member in this band is skillfully equipped at creating, playing, synthesizing, recording, and re-mastering a culmination of original mixtures. Nick Dalessandro leads select solos with the sax, and doubles up with synth and vocals. Dan Barto, on keys, provides rhythmic presence, solos and scratch-sounds. Ean Smith is on bass adds vocals and has been described as “having a deep pocket with a heavy pulse.” Dan Oebnick excels not only at the guitar but also at his stellar lead vocals and his master sense of creating a unique array of effects. Sean McConlay is nothing but the “ordinary” drummer, he has toured over 1 year with Donovan Frankenreiten and also has a degree in Percussion Performance. This bands use of minimalistic introductions and progressive like climaxes are intensified by their fifth member (the unnamed Pilgram’s) coordinated light show’s alongside their synth’d acoustics. If you join them for their CD Release Party at Hodi’s Half Note this May 17th at 8:30p, theres no need for 3D glasses.
