Bridge repairs will close Rist Canyon Road starting April 24; detour via Bingham Hill

Work will begin April 24 on deck rehabilitation on the two bridges on the Rist Canyon Road (County Road 52E) over the Cache la Poudre River just west of LaPorte. The west bridge will be closed to all traffic first with the east bridge remaining open for access into the Tamasag Conference Center.

The east bridge will be closed in May with the west bridge opened for access to the Tamasag Center. Traffic will be detoured over Bingham Hill Road (County Road 50E) during construction.

Access to Watson Lake and the Pleasant Valley Trail, including the pedestrian bridges across the Poudre, will remain open. Work on these bridges will include repair of the bridge deck concrete and application of an epoxy aggregate overlay to protect the surface. Construction should be complete, and both bridges open to traffic, by late May.

ABCO Contracting, Inc. of Denver was awarded this contract. For more information please contact Ron Winne, Project Engineer, Larimer County Engineering at 970-498-5713, rwinne@larimer.org
