Burn permits will not be issued for burning flood debris

The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment reminds residents who must dispose of flood debris that burning of flood debris is not allowed. Open Burn permits will not be issued for burning flood debris.

Flood debris does not comply with the requirements of state regulations since it is likely contaminated with other potentially hazardous substances, with silt or dirt, or is too large to burn without excessive smoke. State regulations require that wood be clean and dry before burning.
