Colorado Water Plan public meeting Sept. 17 in Fort Collins

A public meeting on the draft Colorado Water Plan, which is to be presented to Gov. John Hickenlooper by the end of 2014, is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 17 in Fort Collins.

To gather public input, members of the state legislature’s Interim Water Resources Review Committee are holding hearings in each of the state’s nine major river basins. This meeting is for all residents of the South Platte River Basin, from Fairplay to Julesburg, but especially for residents of Boulder, Larimer, Weld, Morgan, Logan and Sedgwick counties. (Park, Clear Creek, Gilpin and Denver metro area residents may prefer to attend a meeting in Denver scheduled for Oct. 1.)

Participants include Rep. Randy Fischer, Chairman; Sen. Gail Schwartz, Vice Chairwoman; Rep. Don Coram, Sen. Mary Hodge, Sen. Matt Jones, Rep. Diane Mitsch Bush, Sen. Ellen Roberts, Rep. Jerry Sonnenberg, Rep. Ed Vigil

The meeting takes place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive.
