Concrete canoes race across Horsetooth Reservoir on April 5

Engineering student teams from Utah, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico will race concrete canoes on Horsetooth Reservoir as part of the American Society of Civil Engineers Rocky Mountain Student Conference being held at Colorado State University. The canoe races start at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at the South Bay at Horsetooth Reservoir.

The ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition was designed to provide civil engineering students an opportunity to gain hands-on, practical experience and leadership skills by working with concrete mix designs and project management. Student teams design and build their own concrete canoes and are judged on their projects.
