Confrontation leads to man being shot in Red Feather Lakes

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 200-block of Shagwa Drive in Red Feather Lakes at 12:45 p.m. on July 25 on the report of a shooting.

It was reported that a physical confrontation between two adult males had escalated to the point where one man fired a single shot from a handgun striking the other man in the torso. A 55-year-old Red Feather Lakes man was transported by air to a local hospital where he is being treated. His condition is unknown.

The 68-year-old male, also of Red Feather Lakes, who fired the shot, has been cooperative with law enforcement and is being interviewed. He has not been arrested.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
