Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association is offering 13 college scholarships to high school seniors and college undergraduate students. Ten scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,000, one for $1,000 and two for $500. The deadline to apply is Jan. 21.
Scholarship application forms are available on the Poudre Valley REA website at www.pvrea.com or at the PVREA Headquarters, 7649 REA Pkwy, Ft. Collins. Applications must be postmarked no later than January 21, 2013.
Applicants must be dependents of parents, or consumers themselves, who currently receive electric service from Poudre Valley REA. If the consumer is a business, that business may appoint a candidate of its choice. Previous winners may reapply if they still qualify. There are no age or academic restrictions on scholarship awards.
Poudre Valley REA’s College Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $160,000 to area students since 1993.
Poudre Valley REA is also accepting applications for Youth Leadership Camp in Steamboat Springs and the Washington, D.C. Youth Tour this summer. Both trips are provided at no charge to the selected candidates and are open to High School Juniors. The deadline for these programs is also January 21. More information is available at www.pvrea.com.
