Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services was notified late on July 10 of an overdue motorcyclist in the area of Forest Development Road 300 and County Road 86, approximately eight miles southwest of Red Feather Lakes.
Resources from Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services, Larimer County Search and Rescue, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Support group and Poudre Valley Hospital responded to the area.
The subject, 18-year-old Nicholas Jekel of Fort Collins, was located early morning July 11 and appeared to be a victim of a fatal motorcycle accident. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
